But did you know that there are natural remedies to alleviate them? You can follow our eight tips to rejuvenate your face.
Aging has many reasons. A bad diet, physical and/or psychological fatigue, pollution, too little water consumption. Dehydration is another important reason. Our skin is thirsty, dehydrated, loses its suppleness and its smoothness. Very quickly, fine lines and lines on neck appear.
There are many solutions in the market which work. But preventing or delaying the manifestation of wrinkles is possible. The secret? These eight “anti-aging” tips to adopt!
1st secret: the moisturizing cream
After a careful cleansing of our skin (we don't forget the make-up remover!), apply on the face (and on the body) a cream rich in moisturizing agents composed of shea butter or oil argan for example. It plumps up the skin and prevents the appearance of small wrinkles. Read more about how to choose a moisturizer here.
2nd secret: Exfoliation
This is done twice a week. It's a basic beauty treatment for the body. It eliminates the dead cells on the entire face. This leads to growth of new cells on the face. It also promotes the absorption of the care products that we use. Our skin will be so soft! Read more about how do I exfoliate my skin here.
Marionette lines, also known as puppet lines are a type of wrinkle that appears on the face as a person ages. We have written an in-dept blog post on Marionette line. Do read it. |
3rd secret: Limit the sun
It's known to most Americans that prolonged exposure to the sun damages our skin. During summer you have to think about protecting yourself as much as possible, by using sun protection with UVA and UVB filters.
Sun screen prevent the formation of small brown spots due to excessive exposure to the sun. If you go on vacation this summer, avoid strolling outside from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wear a hat and always have a protective cream in your bag. Read more about sun and skin care here.
4th secret: foods with a low glycemic index
High consumption of foods with a high glycemic index, called "fast sugars", stimulates the production of excess insulin. This abnormally high level of insulin leads to excessive production of sebum, which results in the blockage of the pores of the skin cells. This results the skin looking old.
The skin is oily, the face is shiny. To avoid this inconvenience, opt for foods with a low GI (oatmeal, green vegetables, dried fruits, sweet potato, etc.) favor whole grains (wholemeal bread, wholegrain rice, etc.) because their content fiber promotes a low glycemic index, unlike refined grains.
Consume pulses, pasta cooked al dente (the glycemic index is lower than well-cooked pasta) and avoid sweets such as cookies, candies, sodas and company as much as possible!
5th secret: The fruity breakfast
Eating fruit for breakfast gives you a peach of hell and a complexion that radiates for the rest of the day. Fruits rich in vitamin C (papaya, blackcurrant, strawberry, orange, kiwi, etc.) are favored because this nutrient is essential for producing collagen, the fiber protein that gives the skin its incomparable strength and resistance.
Another alternative is to prepare fruit and vegetable smoothies. This will allow you to consume a lot more of them. Opt for seasonal fruits. They have a lot of vitamins and antioxidants. Rad more about fruits that make you look younger.
6th secret: The night cream
When it is night our skin rests itself in the darkness where the temperature and humidity are constant. At this time it is more receptive to feeding and regenerating. Applying a night cream before going to bed will help our skin to regenerate and compensate for deficiencies that appear over time, while protecting it from free radicals.
Choose it according to your skin type (dry, combination or oily) and make sure to apply it well after removing make-up.
7th secret: Drink water
Drink water to hydrate your body. To clean it by eliminating toxins in your body. It's not as easy as it sounds. Start your day with a glass of water before eating your breakfast. Just as a reminder you can leave a bottle full of water when you go to sleep the previous night.

After dinner at the end of the day, watch TV while drinking a cup of herbal tea or green tea. This will allow you to stay hydrated throughout the day. Read more about hydration and aging here.

To build itself, renew itself and function well, the skin needs essential nutrients such as vitamins A, C and E, antioxidants that protect the skin by trapping the free radicals that attack it, trace elements, copper ( which contributes to your skin's elasticity), and zinc (which promotes cell renewal and healing).
A balanced diet also provides "good" fatty acids such as omega 6 and 3, which contribute to the proper functioning of the skin but also of the kidneys, cells, cardiovascular system, immune system and many others!
