Hence the first appearance of wrinkles is not only on the face, but also on our hands.

Well-groomed hands are a symbol of aesthetics. External influences or the aging process also make the skin on the hands appear older.

The back of the hand is usually affected. Initially, there is an increasing loss of elasticity on the back of the hand. Later, the tendons and veins on the back of the hand increasingly shine through.

Aging process of the hands

Most hand wrinkles become visible when you reach your 50's.

Therefore, hand rejuvenation, with its various methods, is an important topic for beautifying the hands. No matter how rejuvenated your face can be after a facelift, just by looking at your hands, you can betray your real age. Wrinkles, age spots, clearly translucent tendons and bones appear.

Why do my hands look wrinkled?

There are several reasons why aging of hands happens. Most important is the loss of fatty tissue under the skin. Women who are going through menopause experience a falling level of estrogen. This leads to further thinning and drying of the skin. The so called age spots also play their part.

The dermis thins and causes a reduction in the tissue structures lying under the skin. Comparable to an inflated balloon that loses air very slowly and becomes more and more shrivelled over time.

As the hand ages, depressions and furrows develop in the inter bone area on the back of the hand, causing the small knuckles, veins and tendons to become more prominent.
