Using the sage herb topically has many skin benefits. Therefore we have come for you with a few recipes using which we can improve the overall health of your skin.

The first recipe that we have is for a sage toner. For this you need to boil 1 cup of water and add 1 tablespoon of dried sage leaves. Keep it in the water for 15 minutes. Then strain the mixture and let it cool. You can now pour the toner in a bottle and use it.

To use the toner you need to first cleanse your face. Spray the toner on a cotton swab and wipe your face. Follow up with your moisturizer. You can use it twice a day at morning or night.

The benefits of using this sage infused toner is that it can help to tighten pores and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It can also treat acne due to the anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties of sage.

The second recipe that we have is a sage and honey mask. For this mask you need 1 tablespoon of freshly chopped sage leaves, 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of yogurt. Mix all the ingredients together and apply the mixture to your face. Leave the mixture on for 20 minutes. Rinse off the mixture with warm water and dry your face.

After using this mask you can use your moisturizer. This mask can be used once a week.

The presence of honey is this face mask will provide you with hydration and nourishment. Also yogurt can gently exfoliate your skin. Also the anti-bacterial properties of sage can help to fight acne causing bacteria.

The third recipe is a sage and lemon scrub. For this scrub you need ½ cup of brown sugar, ¼ cup of olive oil, 2 tablespoons of fresh sage leaves and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Mix all of these ingredients together to obtain a paste.

Cleanse your face and apply this mixture to your face and neck. Avoid the eye areas. Massage the scrub gently on your face in circular motions for 2 minutes. Rinse off the scrub with warm water and pat your face dry. You can then apply your moisturizer. This scrub can be used once a week.

The lemon juice and brown sugar will exfoliate your skin and remove dead skin cells and unclog pores. The olive oil will hydrate the skin and sage can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles


Finally we have the sage steam facial. For this you will have to boil a pot of water and add a handful of fresh sage leaves. Once boiled remove the pot from heat and keep it on a table. Lean over the pot and direct the steam towards your face with your head covered with a towel. Steam for 10 minutes. Rinse your face with warm water and pat dry.

You can then apply your moisturizer. Steam your face for once a week. This steam will open up the pore and loosen dirt and debris. Sage with its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties will treat acne.
