The best way to look younger in our opinion is to use a good skin care routine. We have a four step approach for this and you will have to do it regularly if you want to look younger. But before that there is an important thing to know.

How to know your skin type?

But for any skin care routine it is important to know your skin type. This will help you to go for the correct products. For this you will have to take a tissue and wipe it on your face. If there is oil on it then you have oily skin. If there is no oil then dry skin. If there is oil only when wiping on forehead and nose area then you have combination skin. This will help you to buy the products according to your skin type.

1. Prepare your skin by cleansing it first

You first need to cleanse your face to start with this procedure. For this you will need a good facial cleanser. By cleansing your face you will be able to remove make-up, dead skin cells, and all types of pollutants. It will also clear your skin of dirt and oil and keep your skin pores clear. But for this you will have to find a cleanser for your skin type.

If you have oily skin then you will have to go for gel cleansers. They have good exfoliating properties and are known for their deep cleaning abilities. For dry skin you have to go for creams. They are mostly thicker and clean the skin but keep the natural oils intact. Foam cleansers are ideal for combination skin.

Avoid creams if you have oily skin and go for gels. Gels won’t make you feel greasy like creams and are quickly observed giving a quick dry feel. If you have combination skin then go for lotions. As they are less greasy then creams. Also lotions can be used for any skin types depending upon the climate. If you have oily skin then use them when the days are hotter. If you have dry skin then use them when the days are cooler.

The most important benefit of a moisturiser is that it slows the signs of aging. This happens as moisturizers help to preserve the moisture levels in your skin and prevent the formation of wrinkles. So you need to start using a moisturizer if you want to look younger.

It can help to prevent skin dryness by improving the moisture content in your skin. Extreme cold or heat can suck the moisture from your skin. Therefore it is important to use a moisturizer. This must be done daily after cleansing your face.

3. Exfoliating your skin

This is another important step that you must include in your skin care routine. But this must be done before moisturizing your face and after cleansing it. The reason it is at number three is because you don’t have to do daily. It must be done according to the type of exfoliating mask.

The benefits of exfoliating the skin is as you age your skin will become rougher. This happens because of the multiple layers of dead skin that has built up. Exfoliating will help you to get rid of the dead skin. When you exfoliate your skin the pores of your skin open up. Papaya Mask

For this mask you need 30 g of papaya, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil and 1 tea spoon of almond oil. Put the papaya in the blender and blend it till a pulp is formed. Add both sesame oil and almond oil to this pulp. Blend till a soft emulsion is formed. You can add half teaspoon of rice starch if the mixture is too liquid.

Apply the mask on your face and keep it for 15 minutes and wash. Do this twice a month.

Use a sun protection

This is the most important step in any anti-aging skin care routine. The reason being the harm that the suns UV rays cause to your skin. These rays create free radicals in our skin. These free radicals damage the protein collagen that is responsible to give strength to your skin and prevent wrinkles. This is very bad for your skin and you must take precautions.

You can start by using a sunscreen. Be sure that it has an SPF of 30 and above. Do this every two hours of staying in the sun or after sweating or going to a swimming pool. The area around our eyes is very sensitive to the sun and it would be good if you wear sunglasses when you move out.

Wear long sleeve clothes when you are out in the sun and cover your neck with a scarf. Also avoid moving out in the sun during the afternoons as the suns UV rays are very strong during this time of the day.

By providing your skin with sun protection you will be able to prevent signs of aging like saggy skin and wrinkles.
